Simple tasty recipes are so important in keeping you interested in variety and good food. I am such a believer in tasty dinners. I honestly think, after a lifetime of experiencing fads, tasteless, starvation ‘diets’ that feeling truly satisfied with a good dinner is more than halfway to successfully losing weight.

Leaving a dinner table without guilt, without looking at others in disdain, as they enjoyed a hearty meal under your very sensitive nose, without having fried your brain calculating, counting and re-calibrating your allowances for the day, is what I call enjoying normal family food.

One recipe I love to make uses The Meal Mix sachet from Aldi. I use it to make a tasty Chicken Casserole which is so easy to cook. To get started, preheat the oven to 180c. Parboil sliced potatoes. Pan-fry the chicken in garlic, red onion, a little chilli, and freshly ground black pepper. I also added a bag of frozen chopped peppers and finely sliced in some mushrooms. You can add as many vegetables, fresh & frozen as you wish! That’s the beauty of a casserole. In the meantime, I use some water and mix The Meal Mix and add it to the vegetables.

For those who are particularly interested, the entire calorie count for the sauce is around 150 calories – or 3 fingers of a Kit Kat! Whichever way you want to think about it! But who divides their 3 fingers between 4 people?

So remember, the tastier your meal is, the more satisfied you are and the more motivated you become to lose weight in a healthy and delicious way!
